In the overcrowded slums of Kampala, where blocked drainage, uncollected waste, and poor sanitation are daily realities,
Mulungi MobileMedics Initiative (MMI) is working to turn crisis into opportunity. Through environmental health education, MMI empowers youth and communities to reclaim their environment and protect their health.
Areas like Katwe, Bwaise, and Kisenyi are surrounded by polluted drainage systems and overflowing garbage. These conditions endanger families with frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases like cholera and malaria. MMI tackles this with urgent, community-driven solutions.
By teaching children and youth how their environment affects their health, MMI helps them understand their power to bring change. From cleanup activities to safe hygiene practices, our sessions make environmental education practical and transformative.
MMI involves parents, vendors, elders, and youth groups in campaigns, ensuring long-term sustainability through shared responsibility.
MMI envisions slums that are clean, safe, and nurtured. Through education and collective action, we are building a stronger Kampala — one drainage, one street, one child at a time.
